Introduction

Between 2003 and 2007 I was fortunate enough to have worked at the University of North Texas in the string repair department. While pursuing and completing a master’s degree in double bass performance,  I also focused my efforts on the maintenance, repair and restoration of the double bass.

During my time at the university, I was given the opportunity to service basses from both the jazz and classical departments and quickly became familiar with the ever changing needs of both worlds.

As I am a busy freelance bass player performing in Boston and the surrounding areas, I keep myself in touch with the modern necessities of the student and the working professional.  I  consider myself lucky to have worked on some very rare and fine older instruments which have broadened my understanding of repairing the double bass.

In January of 2008 I opened the doors of my studio, making setup, repair, and restoration available to those living in and around the Boston area.
